Liverpool wins the 44th edition of the European Super Cup.

Last night, Liverpool faced Chelsea at the Vodafone Park in Istanbul – a battle between the winner of the Champions League vs. the winner of the Europa League.

It was an exciting match. Whereas Chelsea were more dominant during first half, Liverpool improved their game after halftime, and it didn’t take long before they managed to score.

After 90 minutes there was no winner yet (1-1), and the intriguing game moved into extra time. Liverpool struck first this time, but Chelsea managed to drew level from a penalty. (2-2)

A thrilling penalty shoot-out after draw, in which second goalkeeper Adrián played a leading role. He was signed only a week ago, coming from West Ham United to Anfield. He managed to stop Abraham’s kick, after nine perfect penalty kicks. Adrián was replacing Liverpool’s first keeper Alisson Becker, who got injured during the first match against Norwich City.
