Chaotic start of the 2019-20 season for Bayern Munich

The first half of the football season is done and for Bayern Munich it hasn’t gone by as it always has. After their 5-1 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt, head coach Nico Kovač was fired. Hansi Flick replaced Niko Kovač on interim basis in November, at least to stay until Christmas.

Hansi Flick has appeared to be successful: he won the match against Olympiakos in the Champions League as well as der Klassiker in the Bundesliga.
Der Rekordmeister eventually even won all the group stage matches, breaking records with their 100% score and highest goal difference ever.

Despite losing against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer Munich have returned to touching distance of the top of the table of the Bundesliga. With 17 matches played, they remain third place with 33 points, four points off the league leaders RB Leipzig. Borussia Mönchengladbach remain second with 35 points, as Borussia Dortmund and Schalke share fourth place with 30 points.


As there aren’t exactly any coaches lining up yet, Hansi Flick will remain in charge at Bayern Munich at least until the end of the season. Will Der Rekordmeister find their way back up and nevertheless win the league title, as they have done 7 years in a row? Time will tell...
